New Year's Eve Outfit Inspiration

Updated: Feb 11, 2020

Built with items you probably already own so you're party-ready in no time.

With 2020 fast approaching, what better way to end the decade with a fabulous outfit?

Here to inspire, my favorite party looks will keep you style-ready to rock any party. Plus, because my blog is all about helping YOU find YOUR most confident style, I’ve included tips for how you can change up the look to fit you best:)

With that, open your closet, blast your favorite records and get ready to style.

OUTFIT #1

This is one of my favorites because of its simplicity. It’s my foolproof way for having put together outfits without trying; after all, there’s no hassle of trying to find matching tops and bottoms. In this case, choosing the right dress is crucial: NYE parties call for a little more sparkle and this dress’ pink velvet elevates an otherwise plain dress.

Ways to make it your own:

  • Play around with different accessories. If you’re having trouble, I always recommend pairing silver jewelry with cool colors, like blue and purple, and pairing gold jewelry with warm colors, like pink and red. As for neutral colors- especially black or white- gold and silver jewelry both work. However, in any case, stick with one color, EITHER silver OR gold.

  • Find YOUR favorite party dress. Trust me, this might be the hardest task but also the most rewarding; after finding this velvet dress, I’ve worn it for countless occasions and can always count on it whenever I need a last-minute party outfit. With that being said, the key is to start with a simple dress silhouette: subtle flare dresses, also sometimes called “swing” dresses are flattering on just about any body type, but don’t be afraid to play around with styles that make you feel confident:) Once you decide on the silhouette, consider trying a bold color, a fun print, a velvet or even a satin material...the options are endless!

OUTFIT #2

Is it really NYE without some sequins? In this look, the knit sweater provides a complimenting contrast to the sequined mini skirt, thus balancing out the outfit. By limiting the sequins to only one portion of the look, the characteristic sparkle of NYE is maintained- without making the wearer look like a walking disco ball.

Ways to make it your own:

  • Switch up the sweater color. Neutral colors are a great choice because they pair with just about any print, even ones as bold as the sequins:) Channel your inner Coco Channel and throw on a black turtleneck for an effortlessly chic look.

  • Keep the sweater-skirt combo, change the prints. Maybe you're more of a vintage, 70s kind of teen. If that’s the case, channel your favorite “Friends” character and opt for a plaid mini skirt.

I hope these ideas helped! Comment your NYE plans and any style questions below.

Much love,

xoxo Grace
